Achievements

Over the years, the organization had embarked on series of activities. These activities aimed at improving the living conditions of the Aged on one way or the other. It been observed that the programs had significant impacts both on the Aged and some sections of the communities.
Below are some of the actives undertook in the year 2006.

Eye Screening Exercise

The organization held Eyes Screening Exercise throughout the zones. The exercise started in March and ended in June. Opticians were invited to do the screening. Reports from the optician varied from one community to the other. Recommendation was made to that effect; spectacles were given to some of them whilst medicines were also provided to others. Others whose cases were severe were referred to hospitals for treatments.

The exercise had impacts on the Aged ad also on the youth since there were youths who also had their eyes screened in some communities.

Human Rights Education

Resource Personnels were invited from the Ghana Legal, Aid Board, Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) and Women and Juvenile Unit (WAJU) of the Ghana Police Service.
They educate the Aged on their civic rights in the society. They also taught then on the things they must do and those they must not do.

The program had impact on the Aged. They brought out the problems confronting them and those problems we addressed to. A case involving an old lady’s grand daughter who was impregnated which the boy irresponsibly abandoned the girl. The case was referred to the CHRAJ at Kuntanasi. Other Land Tittles Problems were solved at Jachie, Adegya and Esereso involving the Aged.

First Aid Post Contact

This system of aid provided by CAAF for the Aged allows Doctors, Nurses, Philanthropist, Sociologist Educationalist Disaster Managers attend to the Aged in visitations and meetings. In the process, the poor and the needy are identified and their problems are identified and attended to by CAAF through subsistence allowances.

Education On The Ghana's Re-Denomination Of The Cedi

COMPASSION AFRICA AGED FOUNDATION (CAAF) had and continuing having intensive education on the re-denomination exercise. Experts from Banking Institutions are invited during visitation. Films on the currency re-denomination are from time to time are shown on projector screen to enhance their education.

Project Mission

CAAF has a Projector. The purpose of this Projector is to show films that concern the Aged. Example is the films on currency re-denomination.

Some of them testify that they can see things in long distances after the exercise. Others can also read using the spectacles.

Aged Health Care

Resource personnels were invited from health centres in various communities to assist. They checked the Blood Pressure of the Aged. They also prescribed drugs for some of them who were affected by Malaria and other kinds of diseases.

The Aged had significant impact on the exercise. They were taught on the importance of regular exercise eg walking. They also learned that they should not pick heavy things from the ground. More especially, they were taught to desist from carrying thing themselves on the farms but rather look for assistants. Some of them who had serious ill-health were referred to the District Health Centres for treatments.
